Historical Information

previous hit Tazewell  next hit previous hit County  next hit was named for Henry previous hit Tazewell  next hit, United States senator from Virginia from 1794 until his death in 1799. It was formed from Wythe and Russell previous hit Counties  next hit in 1799, and parts of Logan (now in West Virginia), Russell, Wythe, and Washington previous hit Counties  next hit were added later.

The previous hit Tazewell  next hit previous hit County  next hit Cooperative Milk Producers Association was organized in 1931 under the laws of Virginia as a body of agricultural producers, a cooperative marketing association, and a corporation.

Scope and Content

previous hit Tazewell  next hit previous hit County  next hit Cooperative Milk Producers Association Contract Book, 1931-1932, contains the names and addresses of cooperative members, the date each member made a contract with the association, and a copy of the contract made with P.G. Baugh, 1931 May 9. The contract spells out in detail the terms of the agreement between the farmer and the cooperative. Also included are loose papers, which are comprised of carbon copies of daily report forms compiled by safety supervisors, and a check from the association to the previous hit county  next hit clerk. The contract book was presented to the clerk 1932 May 15 as required by state law. Index.
